Started as R & R Upholstery in 1974.

   It was started by Richard J Fontaine Sr. He and his son Richard Jr. as well as his son-in-law Gary Brodeur ran the business until 1987. At that time Richard Sr. retired and Richard J. Fontaine Jr. took over the business and subsequently changed the name of the business to Ultimate Upholstery and Incorporated it in 1988. Now we have another generation...Richard’s son Aaron has joined the team!

    Ultimate Upholstery, Inc. has been serving the Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York communities since 1987. Our knowledgeable upholsterers have been perfecting their craft for over 39 years.

   We specialize in custom upholstery and window treatments.  We service a large variety of cliental from Country Clubs to Restaurants. Hospitals, Doctor & Dentist offices. Hair Salons to private residences.

 Ultimate Upholstery specializes in Leather jobs,

unlike most other upholstery companies.

    We do not recover furniture, we reupholster it! The difference being the quality of workmenship. We strip the fabric or vinyl completely off and do what needs to be done to bring your piece back to life! Retie springs, rebuild the base or replace the webbing.  We also can redesign your piece if you would like. We make custom booths, window cornices and upholster walls & panels.
